We are excited to announce the classic feature films we will be screening this year at the 9th edition of Classics in the Park.
Rockers (1978), directed by Theodoros Bafaloukos, and Touki Bouki (1973), directed by Djibril Diop Mambéty.
In Touki Bouki, two young lovers long to leave Dakar for the glamour and comforts of France, but their escape plan is fraught with complications—both tangible and mystical. In the cult classic Rockers, filmed in the late '70s amidst the real reggae scene of Kingston, Jamaica, the film follows reggae drummer Horsemouth. Though he earns little from his music, he hustles records on the side. Things take a dark turn when mafia types steal his motorbike, and his friends rally to help.
Join us at Akola Boni Park, Osu, on March 8th and 9th at 6 p.m.
